Streisand on Visit to Israel

Dressed in blue jeans and wisecracking in Yiddish, Miss Streisand arrived Friday to spend a few days as a tourist.
Singer Barbra Streisand says, “Its odd to be here. I used to be a Yeshiva boher (religious student) in the States,” the actress told officials of the Israel Tourist Ministry, her host.
Miss Streisand said she would spend a few days in Israel. She is accompanied by her son.

Barbra Streisand visited a communal farm on the Sea of Galilee Saturday and had lunch with Israel's Deputy Premier Yigal Allon at his kibbutz home in Ginossar on the sea of Galilee.
Miss Streisand, accompanied by her young son, arrived Friday as guest of the Ministry of Tourism.
The actree toured northern Galilee, including Nazareth, Jesus' boyhood town, before driving to Ginossar to have lunch with its most prominent member.
Miss Streisand saw a waiting television team and quickly asked her hosts to respect her privacy.
