News About Upcoming Streisand DVD Releases
2008 As of November 2007, there are no official announcements for any Streisand DVDs to be released in 2008. Unconfirmed is the Live in Concert DVD, filmed in Florida in 2006. Barbra Archives hears the DVD will be for sale in February 2008 — possibly March 2008 . Look here for more details when they become available. Barbra-Archives can confirm that Streisand recently sat in front of a camera to film footage that will be used on the Yentl DVD — most likely an interview to be utilized in a featurette (like the documentary "A Look Back" on The Way We Were DVD). It's possible Yentl will finally be available on DVD in 2008, which is the 25th Anniversary of Barbra's directorial debut film. There is no official announcement nor date for Yentl at this point. YENTL: [As of June 2006] MGM titles were recently sold to 20th Century Fox. They were previously with Sony. These legal details have, most likely, delayed YENTL's DVD release. Barbra told the "Oprah After The Show" audience (2003) that the DVD was completed and included a new, color-corrected print. The gorgeous, rich tones were witnessed in two scenes from YENTL which were shown on the recent INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO special. It looks great, folks! The Archives was also tipped that Barbra actually recorded and worked some more on the director's commentary for the disc during her down-time on the MEET THE FOCKERS set.
