With the upcoming release
of his new album TONY BENNETT: DUETS/An American
Classic on September 26, musical icon Tony Bennett
brings his television special to NBC this Thanksgiving
holiday. "Tony Bennett: An American Classic,"
presented by Target, premieres on Tuesday, November 21
(8-9 p.m. ET).
In a rare television guest appearance, Barbra
Streisand joins Bennett for a duet of "Smile," which
is the track they recorded for his DUETS album.

Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett recorded "Smile" (Charlie Chaplin) together at Barbra's Malibu home back in February. Pinchas Zukerman contributes violin to the track. It is a duet that will appear on Bennett's 80th birthday album, Duets, due in stores on Sept. 26, 2006. The track is produced by longtime Streisand associate Phil Ramone.
A television special, "Tony Bennett: An American Classic", will air on NBC in the fall. The special is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago movie). On Thursday, August 24th, Streisand and Bennett filmed a segment singing "Smile" together for the special.
