155 Revere Beach Boulevard
February 3—9, 1963
Streisand's first Broadway show, I Can Get It For You Wholesale, closed in October 1962. Her first album, The Barbra Streisand Album, was released in February 1963. She left New York and toured the United States promoting the album by singing in small clubs and appearing on television. (Husband Elliott Gould accompanied her to Massachusetts and Ohio).
Her first stop, for one week, was at The Frolic in Revere, Massachusetts.
Revere, located five miles from downtown Boston, was a beach resort for summer vacationers. The Frolic was a dance pavilion located right off the main boulevard by the beach.
Streisand's contract with The Frolic, signed on January 17, 1963, reveals that Streisand was paid $1,750 for the week and that “Barbra Streisand is to receive 100% top headline billing.”
