John Shelley ran for mayor of San Francisco in 1963. Barbra Streisand performed, along with The Kingston Trio, at a special concert that honored the mayor. The evening of entertainment was held at the Masonic Temple in San Francisco. (Shelley was elected and served as the 35th mayor of San Francisco from 1964 -1968).
