Part Two | Scene 23. NICK & FANNY. OUTSIDE DRESSING ROOM, KEENEY'S ...
The next trim from Funny Girl comes right after Nick says goodbye to Fanny backstage at Keeney's. You can see where this scene got snipped out of the final film. Right after the “starch in the last rinse” line, the film dissolves from the stage door to Fanny at the dressing room door.

Well, in between that dissolve was a scene between Fanny and her buddy, Eddie:
FANNY
Did you see him? Boy, that's my idea of class! Come talk to me while I change.
INT. DRESSING ROOM as they enter. Eddie starts to sit — his behind is sore [note: From Keeney kicking him].
EDDIE
Keeney says I can give you a number of your own—how do you like that?!
FANNY
A specialty! I'm going to have a specialty?! Oh, Eddie, everything's really starting, isn't it? And so much of it's because of you! I don't know how to thank you —
EDDIE
There must be a way. Like — what are you doing after the show Saturday night?

CLOSE SHOT — FANNY — GAZING AT NOTHING, DREAMING
FANNY'S VOICE (Singing)
NICKY ARNSTEIN, NICKY ARNSTEIN, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL FELLA ...
Hear it!:
(Then, speaking) Saturday night? Well, if it's just to sit around and schmooze—fine. But if it's like a date — save your money!
EDDIE
Who said I was going to spend any?!
FANNY (VOICE ON TRACK, SINGING)
DRESSED IN A FULL DRESS FORMAL— AND NOT EVEN GOING TO A WEDDING!
Hear it!:
(speaking) Listen, you're lucky! Dames are a dime a dozen, a good friend is hard to find.
EDDIE (irritated)
Okay, friend, get dressed. I'll walk you home. We'll sit around a smootch.
FANNY
Schmooze.
EDDIE
Schmooze.
FANNY (VOICE ON TRACK, SINGING)
I'LL BET HE KNOWS FLO ZIEGFELD. HE COULD EVEN KNOW MR. WRIGLEY. FROM SPEARMINT.
CLOSE SHOT - FANNY (her face dreamy as she SINGS)
FANNY *
NICKY ARNSTEIN, NICKY ARNSTEIN, I'LL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN.
* This last reprise of the Nicky Arnstein song was the only one included in the final film.
